What are the nuts and bolts of working with Better Money Decisions?

Here are the answers to some of your questions.

What makes us different from other money managers?

We always start with the same goals: learning about you. Whether you are coming to us for portfolio management or retirement strategies, we always aim for an in-depth discovery process to help us define and prepare a tailored plan made just for you.

After all, your plan should be about you. As your holistic money manager, we always start with your goals, aspirations, financial needs, age, career history, health, family needs, and many more factors.

How often do I meet with you?

We take our relationship with clients seriously, and that means our communication as well. We prefer to meet with all of our clients at least twice per year for core reviews. These meetings can be in person, over Zoom or via phone. We also communicate via text and email. So we accommodate whatever works best for you!

Most importantly, we are available when you need us. If you have a crucial financial decision weighing on you, we encourage you to contact us and we will get back to you quickly.

Where are the assets held?

We use TD Ameritrade Institutional (TDA) as our custodian. They hold all of your assets, send monthly statements and provide 24/7 online access to your accounts. Your accounts are covered by SIPC and FDIC insurance. We will ask you to complete TDA paperwork to open your accounts.

How do I pay management fees?

Fees are billed quarterly in advance and deducted directly from your account by TDA. Permission to withdraw fees is granted to TDA when you sign their account paperwork. You will always know exactly what you pay for our services. We have no hidden compensation and do not take commissions or kickbacks from any of the investments in your portfolio.

Does the Financial Wellness for Life® service cost extra?

No! When you become a client, we automatically provide all of the comprehensive services offered under this concierge program. A financial plan is the key to starting Financial Wellness for Life® but after that, depending on your individual situation, we tackle what is most important to you first.

Am I locked into a contract?

As part of the account set-up, we will ask you to sign our Private Client Agreement. The agreement details our responsibilities to you as well as your responsibilities to us such as letting us know if your financial circumstances have changed. You can cancel the agreement at any time and your fees are prorated.

Do you have any minimums?

For us to provide our comprehensive service, we require clients to have a minimum of $500,000 in investable assets.
